Three smart Joolz accessories address parents' inconveniences

Amsterdam, February 2011 – This spring Joolz introduces three innovative accessories:
the XL Shopping bag, the UV Sun hood and the Baby Bodyguard. With these accessories Joolz solves at once daily inconveniences all parents will recognize: not enough space for your groceries; your child is not protected enough from light and sun; and a seat that is still somewhat large for your baby. The design of the accessories are such that you can simply start using them on the go whenever you want, but you can stow them away easily when you don't need them anymore.

XL Shopping bag
"Every parent struggles when it comes to room for groceries and other stuff on their stroller", says Emile Kuenen, Creative director at Joolz. "You see parents hanging their heavy bags on their handle bar, which has an impact on the stability of the stroller. We have come up with a solution for this with the Joolz XL Shopping bag." The bag is designed in such a way that it has a huge storage space, hangs safely on your Joolz Day, and has a large opening space in order for you to have easy access to your things, and the sleek design is beautiful too. When you stop using it, you simple detach the bag from the stroller, roll it down and store it in the shopping basket.

UV Sun hood
"Parents want to protect their child from sun and light, especially when it is sleeping", says Kuenen. "You see them hanging a cloth at the sun canopy with some peg or clothes pin. With the Joolz UV Sun hood the child is protected against sun and light." The UV Sun hood can be clicked on to the sun canopy of the Joolz Day and the UV screen is invisible until you start using it. You unroll the UV screen and it becomes a full sunblind when you attach it at the foot of the seat or the cot. A child can sleep comfortably without being disturbed by bright light. And, when (s)he awakes again, you roll up the UV screen and hide it in the dedicated space in the UV Sun hood.

Baby Bodyguard
The seat of the Joolz Day is suitable for children as of 6 months, as their back is strong enough at that age to sit up. Kuenen: "Some babies are still very small when they are 6 months and you have the impression that they 'disappear' in the seat. With the Baby Bodyguard we have developed an accessory that offers more support for the small babies back and head. A protective breathable layer in the seat and head support keeps the child comfortable when the temperature rises.

Dutch Ergonomicz
Joolz products are designed around the human body, that of the parent and of the child. Joolz puts ergonomics, or as they call it at Joolz, Dutch Ergonomicz at the core of the design philosophy. "Our focus is to support the child's body in the best possible way and unburden the body of the parent as much as we can", says Kuenen. With the Joolz XL Shopping bag and the UV Sun hood parents have more room for storage and protection from the sun at arm's length and do not need to bend for it. Kuenen: "A mum or dad bends umpteen times every day which is a strain for the back. There is a reason for all the backache parents suffer from. We want to relieve the back as much as we can, the less times you have to bend a day the better." The Baby Bodyguard is fully ergonomically designed to support the baby's body as much as possible.
